Duobox vs Google Workspace
Duobox

What you pay when all you wanted was email

This page is for anyone about to pay for Google Workspace just to get name@yourcompany.com. We read the prices on each vendor's official website on 26 October 2026.

The real question is simple: do you need an office in the cloud, or do you need your company's email? If it's the second one, you're about to pay a lot for something you won't open.

Your first inbox is free

Before any table: with Duobox you start without paying. 1 person, 1 inbox, 1 domain and 10 GB, no card and no time limit. It's not a trial that expires after 14 days: it's the plan, and it stays that way as long as you're one person.

A company starts with what a company is: someone, a name and an address. When you add a second person, each one is $2 a month. On Google, the first person already pays $7 a month, on a one-year contract.

In one line

Duobox

Duobox is your company's email: personal and shared inboxes on your domain, which open in the browser or in your phone's mail app, and an agent that can work them with the permissions you choose.

Google Workspace is an office in the cloud: email, documents, spreadsheets, video calls, calendar and Gemini, all bundled together and all per person.

Why Duobox

  • You start free, for real

No card, no trial that expires. Create the account, connect your domain and send the first email from your address.

  • The shared inbox is the centerpiece, not a workaround

sales@ is an inbox with its own history. The day someone leaves, the conversation with the customer stays right where it was.

  • One person, up to 10 inboxes

Whoever handles sales@, billing@ and their own email pays once, not three times.

  • An agent gets in with permissions, not with your password

Paste https://mcp.duobox.io/v1/mcp into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, sign in with your account, and choose what it can do: read, leave drafts, send or manage. Whatever you didn't check, it doesn't do.

  • No need to move

If your email is already on Google, your domain stays where it is and the new inbox lives next door, on a subdomain. And if one day you want to bring your old email over, it imports from Gmail in one pass.

  • Month to month

Add a person and remove them whenever you want. No annual contract, and no introductory price that changes later.

  • We also sell the domain

If you don't have one yet, and your email starts with it.

When to choose each one

Duobox

Choose Duobox if what you need is email on your domain, you want to start without paying, you have shared inboxes like sales@ and support@, and you want an agent to be able to answer in there without handing it the keys to everything.

Choose Google Workspace if your team works in Docs and Drive all day, you're on video calls every day, or you need the controls of a company with an IT department.

And there's a third option: leave Google where it is and add the shared inboxes, or your agent's inbox, in Duobox, on a subdomain. You don't migrate anything and there's no cutover day.

Questions we get

Is the first inbox free forever?
Yes, as long as you're one person with one inbox and 10 GB. You only pay once you add someone, a second inbox or more storage.
Can I keep using Docs and Drive?
Yes. Docs and Drive are still free with a Google account, and your company's email goes in Duobox.
Can I bring my old email over from Gmail?
Yes, it imports in one pass, and you can import again to bring over what's new.
Will my email land in spam?
The SPF, DKIM and DMARC records are published when you connect the domain. It's the same thing Google does, and it's the baseline for your email to get through.
